Lesson Lesson Lesson!! Lots of lesson! I have not wrote out a completed lesson plan yet but I plan to work all day tomorrow on them I have the day off to just do lesson plans!!! I have all the ideas I want in my plans already done though! I am doing my unit for first grade, over phonics! I have a few hands on activities to teach my lessons. I think the few I am doing the students will enjoy! On my last day we will be doing a review for the test, I am going to have the student play jeopardy in groups.! In my 100 class we did this for studying and I truly enjoyed it and I think the students will love to play the game and to have a little competition. I honestly did not use any sites to help me with this unit besides the Missouri Learn Standards of course. I used a lot of my experience in the classroom already to help me make my lesson. I have been in the classroom a lot. So I have seen what the students learn well with and what they do not. Also I have seen how teachers teach and what they use to help them teach. So I used all of this to help me with this unit! I loved doing it. I like making the different test it make me think deeper and I enjoy that. Overall, I am excited to share two my lessons next week with the class! I cant believe we only have 3 more classes left now!!!
WHAT IS YOUR GUYS LESSONS OVER? WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFCULT PART OF YOUR LESSONS? WHAT IS THE MOST SIMPLE PART OF YOUR LESSONS?
P.S. I am student teaching at Camdenton this August and their new teaching ways are, looking at the Missouri Learning Standards and making lessons to fit them! So I feel this unit will help me a lot! I plan to use these lessons if I am giving the opportunity during my student teaching so I am excited!
I can't wait to hear about your lesson plans! I hope to teach first grade so I'll definitely take notes when you're presenting. There are so many fun lesson ideas for teaching phonics. My unit plan is for third grade and is over fiction vs. nonfiction text features. The hardest part was the fact that there are SO many MO learning standards on this topic and making sure I hit all of them is tricky. The easiest part is finding quality books to share with my students. There are just so many books that are wonderful examples of both fiction genres and nonfiction. I'm excited for the last couple weeks of class!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to hear you present! that unit is great!

ReplyDeleteMy lessons cover so many things for the unit. From reading, knowing the parts of the story, learning new words, different types of words, spelling tests, to problems and solutions. The easiest part is coming up with activities for the students....or it is the most fun! Along with what Paige said, finding the books to share with them!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing! cannot wait to hear about it!!
DeleteI am so glad I am not the only one that has not started. With the school year coming to an end I just put it off and now I can't seem to get my brain on it. I have been working so hard to set up my observation times and try to figure out which grade I will be with so I can plan that lesson that these lesson plans just kept getting pushed back. I am off tomorrow and I don't have the grand kids so I will work on them tomorrow. I start observing next week and am supposed to do 15 hours but I am thinking she wants me for all of summer school because she told me Monday - Friday 8-12 was summer school. I haven't even been assigned a teacher yet, lol. I guess summer school is relaxed so I will just enjoy the ride.
ReplyDeleteThat would be hard to do observations during a summer class. I am glad I am finished with that. Just have to worry about student teaching this fall! I am ready for these classes to end so I have a small break before student teaching.
DeleteI do have to say that field experiences and actually teaching a lesson does help when you are planning a unit for other classes. I can not wait to hear about your lessons during your presentation because phonics is something that is worked on all year in 1st grade. I feel as though there are many books and websites that can be useful for phonics so if you still have time, I would use the free resources available. Also, congratulations once again with your student teaching. If you work with your cooperative teacher, she/he will be okay with you teaching your own lessons. My cooperative teacher allowed me to plan my own lessons and she just overlooked them to make sure they met with the curriculum. My lessons are for 4th grade and I think the hardest part for me is putting it to paper. It's hard planning so I am thinking of my students I worked with and imagining that I am starting a new unit with them.
DeleteThank you:). I am so excited
